1964 MG B

This much sought-after Chrome Bumper MGB Roadster is a great evocation of the ‘Works’ 1960’s Le Mans effort. This is a useable everyday car but with its modifications could be taken rallying, racing or hill climbing.

The front body styling includes the mandatory lower spoiler giving high speed stability plus cool air intakes for the brakes and engine. The headlamps have the aerodynamic Perspex covers essential for top speed running. EPL 962B had the mechanical spec’ uprated accordingly by Maidstone Sports Cars. This includes:

- 1800CC engine with Rally camshaft

- Hi-compression

- Gas-flowed cylinder head

- 45DCOE Weber

- Tubular exhaust manifold with free flow system.

The gearbox was also rebuilt with over-drive, the interior has re-trimmed with red seats and three-point harnesses plus an FIA rollbar also added. Uprated suspension also included Antiroll bars new springs and new wheels. A very solid body painted Old English White above and below. This work being carried out by Marden Coachworks costing £5k for a Bare-Metal rebuild in the 90’s

This car comes with a comprehensive history file and reading it gives a good sense of this much cared for MG’s history, with historic itemised bills and documentation.
