***DUE IN***
Aston Martin V8 'Vantage, X-Pack' Manual Transmission. First registered 15/06/1977. Supplied by Aston Martin, Sloane Square in London. Something a little bit different for us but a car we were interested in assisting with given its superb provenance and condition, mechanically, cosmetically and structurally. The car is being sold on the current owners behalf. He acquired the car back in 2002, from his Uncle (a long-term friend and customer of 911Virgin) who purchased the car through the Aston Martin Specialist Chapman-Spooner, and the well regarded Aston expert, Andy Chapman.
The service file on the car car extends over a number of folders covering the last 5 decades. Service history is exceptional with the car being cared for, at all stages, by recognised industry figures. Service history is full and complete.
At first registration the car was finished in its original colour of Verde Medio Nijinsky with the interior trimmed in Fawn. In 1990 the car was taken back to bare metal and changed to Storm Red. Chrome-work was either replaced or refinished. Shortly thereafter, in 1993, at 56,000 miles, the engine was rebuilt to Vantage full Tickford X-Pack specification by Andy Chapman of Champan-Spooner. The bonnet vent was modified to Vantage Spec and an integrated 'Fliptail' was added. BBS wheels were fitted along with a big bore stainless steel exhaust system. In 1996 Andy Chapman carried out a complete suspension strip and overhaul helping to transform the handling. In 1998 the interior was re-trimmed to Black Connolly leather with complementing Black carpets.
Summarising maintenance on a car of the age with its associated and extensive history files is challenging but in essence the car has been looked after, in the early years, by Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell, then Andy Chapman of Chapman-Spooner, followed by HWM, Aston Martin (Walton on Thames) with all works, in recent years, carried out by Tim Butcher of Trinity Engineering. Trinity Engineering began their associated with the car in 2011. In the early years they started a thorough program of maintenance and improvement which included replacement sills. In 2015 Trinity carried out a bare metal restoration and colour change to Sebring Blue an 'in period' V8 Vantage colour. All seals were replaced with chrome either replaced or re-finished. The car has covered approx. 7000 miles since this work and in the 10 years that have followed Trinity have been solely responsible for any maintenance on the car.
For the past 23 years, with it's current owner, the vehicle has been kept in dry storage with any usage avoiding inclement weather. In total there have been 7 owners.
Presented in stunning condition throughout and supplied with all accompanying service history, related literature, historic MOT certificates and extensive digital photography (committed to disc) in support of the previously carried out bare metal restoration. A V8 Vantage with X Pack engine at a sensible price. Detailed images to follow.
