1994 MAZDA RX-7

To understand the significance of this RX-7, you need to know three letters: MNC. The Mid Night Club, an underground legend of Japanese motoring, infamous for their high-speed runs on Tokyo's Wangan expressways, represented the pinnacle of outlaw car culture. This very car is believed to have belonged to a member of that elusive fraternity.

Provenance & Pedigree

Originally commercialised under Mazda's luxury Efini brand, this RX-7 started life with a 255HP 13B-REW rotary. It's since been transformed into something truly unique, a one-of-a-handful widebody RX-7s, allegedly built by the legendary RE-Amemiya in Japan and showcased at the 1993 Tokyo Autosalon. The "AdFacer" body kit, produced specifically for this car, is one of just three ever made; two in classic blue for endurance racing, and this example, finished in a striking custom livery the road.

Performance & Engineering

Now producing circa 430BHP, this RX-7 is far from standard:

Engine: Single turbo conversion, V-Mount radiator and intercooler setup, GReddy throttle body, elbow and intercooler piping, Esprit ECU, uprated exhaust, and a suite of HKS upgrades (boost controller, oil/water temp, and exhaust temp gauges).

Transmission: Upgraded with a competition clutch (2020), delivering power through a robust drivetrain.

Brakes & Suspension: Braided brake lines and the car sits on coilovers.

Wheels: 17" OZ Racing gold alloys, perfectly filling the wide arches.

Coachwork & Interior

Body: RE-Amemiya AdFacer front end, matching wing mirrors, and that unmistakable widebody stance.

Interior: Customised with a rare RE-Amemiya steering cowl gauge pod and GReddy boost gauge, collector-grade details you simply won't find elsewhere and the interior is in excellent condition.

History & Condition

Extensively refurbished in the late 1990s/early 2000s, with a detailed archive of its journey included.

In a private collection since 2015, cherished and maintained regardless of cost, with servicing, annual MOTs, and only ever driven in fine weather.
