1973 Alpine

The Alpine A110 is a legendary French lightweight sports car and rally icon, known for its lightweight fibreglass body, rear-engine layout, and agility, achieving WRC success. The one presented here is a VB configuration car, the most desirable variant of the A110, as it was the lightest and most powerful street model during its long production run. The important VB specification model also served as the foundation for the "works" cars that secured the International Rally Championship for Makes in 1971. It is estimated that only around 800 VB models were ever produced between 1969 and 1972.

The Alpine A110 exemplified the marque’s dynamic engineering. It used Renault components and a lightweight glass-fibre body. At the inaugural WRC stage in Monaco in 1973, Jean-Claude Andruet led a 1-2-3 finish for the Renault-backed team, helping Alpine-Renault secure the manufacturer’s championship.
