This 2000 Honda Integra Type R DC2 Type RX was imported into the UK in 2016 as a grade 4B auction example with approximately 43,300 miles recorded. Since arriving in the UK it has been cared for by R Motion and has benefitted from an extraordinary, no expense spared refurbishment by Simon Bucknell and his team using OEM parts wherever possible. The car now shows just 51,260 miles and presents in exceptional condition throughout.

Bodywork, paint and exterior restoration

The car has undergone a comprehensive full glass out respray, including the engine bay and interior. Shut lines and panel gaps have been set to factory specification or better, followed by a full colour sand and machine polish. All exterior decals and badges have been replaced with new original OEM items.

The exterior restoration includes new window seals and weather strips where available, and all glass has been overhauled. Lighting assemblies have been fully refurbished, powder coated and rebuilt with new hardware. Bumpers, trims, and fixings have been refreshed with all new fastenings, including rare clips sourced from a donor car due to widespread parts obsolescence. Wiper arms have been powder coated and fitted with new blades, while the washer system and all water shields have been fully overhauled.

Chassis, suspension and braking

The chassis has benefited from a full underside restoration. All suspension arms, hubs, and brackets have been removed, powder coated and rebuilt with new wheel bearings. Every piece of hardware throughout the entire car has been re zinced, and a full fast road geometry setup has been completed. The steering rack has been fully refurbished to ensure razor sharp turn-in.

The entire braking system has been overhauled, featuring refurbished calipers, new discs and pads, braided brake lines and performance brake fluid. The complete ABS system and sensors have also been fully overhauled.

Interior restoration

The interior has been restored with meticulous attention to detail. All seats were returned to Recaro for refurbishment, retaining the correct factory stitch pattern and signature yellow finish. The steering wheel and gear gaiter have been overhauled with the correct yellow stitching, while carpets, mats, roof lining and visors have all been refurbished.

Every interior trim piece and switchgear component has been restored, including the refurbished blue carbon trim panels and the original aluminium pedals. The restoration extends behind the dashboard, where the heater and all controls have been overhauled. The pedal box has been refurbished, Gathers speakers retained, and a period correct double DIN head unit fitted alongside the original OEM ECU. Every wiring loom throughout the car has been overhauled with new loom ties and speed fasteners used. Additionally, all window motors and regulators have been powder coated and overhauled.

Engine, gearbox and mechanical overhaul

Crucially, this car retains its original factory engine unit. The engine and gearbox have been completely removed for a full strip, clean, and inspection before being refinished. All zinc hardware within the engine and gearbox has been renewed. The rocker cover was sent back to Japan to be refinished by the original company who supplied Honda to ensure the exact factory shade.

Mechanical work includes a new clutch and a complete overhaul of the clutch system. It has been fitted with a new cambelt, water pump, idler, spark plugs, distributor, rotor, and a new sump and gasket. A new radiator, AC condenser, and OEM-spec battery have been installed. The fuel tank and all hoses have been refurbished, and the complete OEM exhaust system has been refurbished and painted, including a blasted and treated OEM manifold with all new gaskets and overhauled heat shields. All engine ancillaries have been overhauled and fitted with new auxiliary belts. Fluids include Honda PSF, Honda MTF and Mobil 1 10W60.

This is a truly exceptional example of a DC2 Integra Type R Type RX. Finished in the rarest colour, meticulously restored using OEM components, and retaining its original engine and unique character, it represents one of the finest DC2s currently available.
