1991 VAUXHALL ASTRA

1991 Vauxhall Astra GTE 16V. Car has been fully restored using lots of hard to find and very expensive, NOS parts. The car shows 2 previous owners on the V5. We have old mots dating back to the 90s. It appears the car was used as a daily until around 2008 when it was taken off the road. The owner at that time set about finding lots of NOS parts and the restoration was started. For some reason it never got quite finished and Steve Capri at SM Classics in Doncaster obtained the car and finished the restoration. Its a very tidy example, runs and drives as it should and comes with a current MOT. Body - Very straight and clean. The following New Old Stock items were fitted during the resto - Doors, Tailgate, Bonnet, side skirts, mouldings, bumpers, headlights, indicators. Paintwork is lovely. Floors were ice blasted and left as main floor pans are original and very clean. Could do with a coat of clear wax or similar but for now we have left it so anybody viewing can see exactly how solid and original the floors are.Mechanics - Apparently a brand new engine and box were also sourced. Try finding one of them these days!. Suspension and brakes were all renewed during the restoration. Basically everything is either new or refurbished. Car starts, runs and drives as it should and is very lively, even by todays standards.Interior - Digital dash all works. Interior is all standard, but seats were replaced with ones owner found from a very low mile salvage vehicle and are in very good order. Art the time of the photos the car is still awaiting a final valet inside.Wheels - Again new old stock rims were found, and fitted with Toyo Proxy tyres. Centre caps if we are honest are a slightly different shade to the wheels,This is a very solid tidy example which has had the crown jewels thrown at it in terms of expense.
