EXTERIOR

Immaculately presented in classic Tungsten Metallic over Doeskin, this low-mileage XJR Sport looks magnificent against our studio backdrop. These models were built with TWR as an in-house product available through Jaguar dealers. They came with chrome door frames (from the Sovereign models), a full TWR body kit that comprises of revised front and rear body-coloured bumpers, a boot-lid spoiler, and 16-inch Speedline alloy wheels; all are still present on this example and everything remains in superb condition. She’s arrow-straight along both sides with perfect panel fitment, and the paintwork maintains a deep, even lustre throughout.

INTERIOR

The interior condition is first-rate as you would expect with so few miles. Everything here not only looks very original but also presents to an excellent standard. The seats retain a lovely shine-free finish, and the bolsters are almost entirely unworn; the upholstery also feels as soft and supple as the day it left the factory. The front armrest is immaculate, and there is no lacquer damage or discolouration to any of the wood trim. The switchgear is all fully functional and the original cassette radio is still fitted. The original floor mats are still present in the footwells along with an additional set of Jaguar winter rubber mats. The boot area houses the spare wheel and carpeted cover as well as a period style Jaguar Sports Classic tennis bag.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Beneath the bonnet lies the silky-smooth 3.6 straight-six engine. The engine bay itself presents very well indeed and is remarkably clean and tidy with no signs of accident damage or previous poor repair work. Recent work includes a full vehicle inspection, air conditioning system converted to R134a gas, new shock absorber top mounts, and a fresh oil service. The 4-speed automatic gearbox operates very smoothly as you would expect for a Jaguar of this vintage.

HISTORY FILE

This magnificent XJR Sport was first registered in August 1989 and sold through its supplying Jaguar dealer Taggarts (Glasgow) Ltd. to Lothian Engineering Co. Since this time, it has had just 4 keepers in total. Within the history folder you will find the original Jaguar document pack with all manuals, the service book (stamped 7 times by Taggarts Jaguar), MOT certificates, the current V5 registration document, invoices for parts and servicing, as well as various correspondence from Jaguar to the first owner dated September 1989.
