Description
Only 929 examples of the 512 BB were ever made, and just over 100 were right-hand-drive. This Berlinetta Boxer presented here is also a ultra rare Hong Kong-delivered and registered example with period Macau Grand Prix racing history.
Ferrari made a strong statement at the 1971 Turin Auto Show with the introduction of the 365 GT4 BB. The company replaced its well-known front-mounted V-12 engine with a mid-mounted flat-12, and the car featured a wedge-shaped design that would define Ferrari’s style for years.
In 1976, Ferrari updated the 365 GT4 BB to the 512 BB, retaining its bold styling while delivering greater performance and refinement. The car offers balanced handling, an eye-catching wedge design, and amazing performance. Named after the earlier 512 race car, the 512 BB used a 4.9-litre carbureted flat-12-cylinder engine based on Ferrari’s Formula One engine, which produced approximately 340 hp in the road car. It was the first Ferrari road car without a V-shaped engine. The flat twelve gave the BB a unique character among Ferrari’s models.
The 512 BB is a classic that continues to appreciate and remains one of the most exciting supercars of its time. It shows off Ferrari’s best mid-engine design, with wedge-shaped bodywork that inspired later models, including the popular Testarossa. For Ferrari fans, the 512 BB is a true legend. This example is in exceptionally good mechanical and cosmetic condition. Please contact us for more information if you are interested in adding this rare Ferrari classic to your collection.
