Description
One of the most beautiful Alfas ever made, this 105 series car spent its life in South Africa before being imported to the UK in 2021. The car is now coming to the end of a restoration costing £1000s and is ready for the next owner to enjoy.
EQUIPMENT/ INTERIOR
The interior is in great condition - new head lining & carpets, seats retrimmed, parcel shelf and dash recovered, sun visors.
EXTERIOR
As the car came from a hotter climate the bodywork was generally in very good condition. There was a 10mm hole in the floor next to the brake pedal, so a completely new driver side floor pan and front valance was purchased from Classic Alfa and has been professionally fitted to a very high standard.
The car had been fully resprayed just prior to coming to the UK and has not been driven more than 100 miles since. Also, the previous owner had fitted a roof mounted aerial which was obviously removed, the hole filled and roof repainted. Both headlights have been replaced and I’m now completing a few finishing touches including window and door seals, a new front central grill heart and a pair of wipers, which will be fitted.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 1290cc DOHC 4-cylinder engine starts perfectly & sounds great with the twin Weber carburetors. It runs very well with no knocks, bangs or plumes of smoke.
The car has recently had a new electronic ignition system, oil, filters and plugs.
A new clutch was fitted in 2025. The 5-speed manual gearbox is precise and has no nasty whines or noises.
Other notable parts that have been fitted are:
Water pump
Rear & mid exhaust
Multiple water hoses
Fuel pump & regulator
Bonnet cable
Various grommets and bungs
The speedo reads 45k miles & whilst I have no history to back this up, I also have no reason not to believe this isn't the true mileage.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 15" steel wheels have been blasted, powder coated and have new tires all round,
New master cylinder, brake lines, pads & regulator valve.
HISTORY / DOCUMENTS
The car is registered with the DVLA and I have the V5 in my name. I will have the car MOT’d before it’s sold for peace of mind.
Unfortunately, I have no service history for the vehicle apart from what has been completed in the UK since 2021. That said, as it’s had so many parts replaced or repaired it should have a whole new life ahead of it now.
SUMMARY
This little Alfa is a solid car which is mechanically sound and has a great body. It’s ready to use as it is or it can be taken to the next level by a new owner.
The value of these is steadily rising and good examples are getting harder to find each year. A great investment that brings a smile to your face every time you drive it!
Happy to provide any extra information or photos as requested.
Any inspections welcome but please note that test drives will only be possible on dry days as the car is very clean underneath. Please call for further information or arrange a viewing.
