1972 Ferrari

Only 2,295 units of the gorgeous Dino 246 GT were ever produced, and fewer than 500 were right-hand-drive. Dino GT was created to honor Enzo Ferrari’s son, Alfredo ‘Dino’ Ferrari. As an engineer, Dino Ferrari promoted a smaller-engined sports car in the 1950s. Enzo Ferrari then introduced the Dino sub-brand to compete with models like the Porsche 911. Its mid-engine design ensured superb weight distribution and enabled a streamlined front end, establishing the Dino246 GT as a true sports car worthy of the Ferrari name.

The Dino 246 GT is equipped with a hugely versatile 2.4-litre V6 engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Although 195 horsepower from the Dino may seem modest today, it was highly competitive for sports cars of that era. For comparison, the fastest standard Porsche 911S produced around 180 horsepower at the time. The Dino 246 GT is renowned for its precise, nimble handling and highly responsive driving experience. Its mid-engine V6 layout provides optimal balance, resulting in accurate steering and intuitive control.

This example is the final iteration of the Dino production, the E Series, and the most mechanically advanced form. These models featured dual Weber DCNF7 carburetors and slightly increased top speed. The dashboard was also revised to accommodate a radio and sliding heater controls. Imported from the United Kingdom, this example has been restored and kept in pristine condition over the years.
