My Blackberry Pearl # R-09119 is regrettably up for sale. If anyone has a penchant for purple now’s your chance! FD2’s don’t become available in this colour very often. It’s a 2008 Facelift. Mileage 84,750k.
The car is very well documented on the FD2 Facebook forum and there are plenty of posts, photos, throughout my ownership. Originally imported by Torque GT, it was then owned by a previous member of the FD2 group, before it was bought back by Torque GT, I then purchased the car from them in October 2020. Since then the car has been maintained by Honda HQ and also my local Honda dealership in Narborough who have always looked after my DC2 – owned since 2007 – as I’ve got a good relationship with the guys there. I have all relevant paperwork / service history. Plus the service history from Japan.
It’s just had a fresh service, MOT and replacement clutch and master cylinder all completed by BWH Performance in Leicester. The work was carried out at the end of Jan this year.
As I’ve also got a Volvo V60 Polestar the FD2 has kind of been a token family car, so it’s had a pretty easy life during my ownership. I know I’ll regret selling it, but I can’t keep all my toys forever! Plus the DC2 is my go-to summer drive car. (The one I’ll never sell!) Exterior, interior, engine bay are in superb condition, paintwork / colour is stunning. I had it professionally detailed by Slix in Leicester just after I bought it – as the paintwork was in terrible condition (search for ‘A Detailers Diary ep20 - Saving A Unicorn - Honda Civic FD2 Type R’ on YouTube) and have since had it ceramic coated.
I’ve also had the rocker cover refurbed. Photos can never really do the colour justice and if I’m honest it’s the reason I bought this car as I had put a deposit down on a very tidy CL1 with TGT, but as soon as they advertised ‘a purple one’ I had to have it. I feel these will go the same way as a PY DC2’s have in a few years time and will demand more money.
I still have all the original OEM parts where I have upgraded, so steering wheel and original intake, scuttle.
Please note I have taken the Ohlins off (available separately) – if you do go through its history on the forum – and returned it back to OEM front and Koni adjustable rear. All work carried out by String Theory. The OEM wheels are back on as I sold the Enkei GTC01RR’s separately.
Goodies are the usual Mugen wind deflectors + Mugen colour matched grill. Gruppe M induction kit – these are silly money really but the sound is worth it alone! No rattles / vibration from the Gruppe M and I still have the OEM scuttle. Steering wheel is a 340mm Spoon Momo (with genuine NSX-R horn), it’s the perfect size wheel IMO and looks OEM with the NSX horn fitted. Car also has Apple Play Pioneer system with rear camera (I still have the original JDM stereo).
I also fitted a brand new set of OEM headlights (receipt from Torque GT) so it now looks factory fresh! As it’s a facelift car is also has the hexagon LED rear light cluster as well as purple footwell lighting (I may be wrong but I think this was an optional extra?). The car always gets comments from whoever has been working on it, it’s spotless underneath, with absolutely no issues of corrosion.
