2001 Jeep

Admired for their durability, no-nonsense rugged styling and go-anywhere ability, the Jeep Wrangler has become a cult car loved by many. We are big fans of these cool vehicles and over the years have learned that the best examples are the ones that we import from Japan. They arrive in a super condition having had a relatively easy life in downtown Tokyo.

The Japanese Imports come with the added benefit of Air Conditioning and occasionally, as with this one, the superb removable hard top.

As the Sahara model it has the correct green and beige Sahara only interior with power steering as standard. Should you prefer the canvass soft top this will be easy to find on Ebay if you are to use more frequently in the summer.

They are the coolest vehicle to buzz around in during the summer with the top removed and for the brave the windscreen can be laid flat on the bonnet providing a sereal experience. Also for off road the doors can be detached.

This 2001 Wrangler 4.0 auto Sahara Edition is no exception to others we have imported where the bodywork and chassis shows minimal corrosion and much of the original paintwork is still in a good condition with only minor scratches.

The interior is perfect and helped having been covered with seat covers upon arrival – thank you to the owner for looking after them.

The Sahara model has a wonderful interior not only with the excellent seat fabric and cushion quality, but the entire interior and dashboard is superbly laid out and easy to use.

The owner has removed the bulky spare wheel/carrier which is often seen in Japan as it ‘backdates’ the look of the vehicle to the CJ’s of the 1950’s. Personally, I like it and it does look more retro. Bumpers modified for the same reason and for night-time benefit LED headlights fitted.

Some Jeeps look amazing with big fat tyres on huge wheels but if not correctly sized, and have incorrect suspension fitted aftermarket, they are tricky over road cambers. But this example is blessed with large wheels and tyres and drives nicely in a straight line and at high speeds. This vehicle drives better than most, though if your regular use is on tarmac roads, you might consider a more road biased replacement at some point. It’s a choice of ‘looks or performance’.

This is a good condition example supplied with its Japanese handbook, spare key and various Japanese leaflets. In its 25 years it has only covered a very low 50,000 miles. (the odometer display is Kilometres). The speedometer can be converted at a cost of £200.

It feels like a low mileage example when driving.

This vehicle has an MOT till 2027, will recieve an oil and filter service, and will be supplied with a national used car warranty from Autoguard Warranties.
