⭕ VEHICLE SUMMARY
A rare final flourish of a British motoring legend — the John Cooper LE marks the end of Mini production with unmistakable character and collectability.
The car that sparked the small-car revolution, the Mini remains one of the most influential designs in motoring history. Launched in 1959, it pioneered the transverse front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout that would become the template for generations of compact cars. Its motorsport success only enhanced its legend, particularly under the Cooper name, where its agility and balance made it a giant-killer on rally stages across Europe. After ~41 years of production, the curtain finally fell in 2000 — but not before a fitting finale.
The John Cooper LE represents one of the very last and most desirable iterations of the classic Mini. By the late 1990s, the Mini had evolved considerably, benefiting from meaningful upgrades including a driver’s airbag, seatbelt pre-tensioners, side-impact protection beams, an immobiliser and distributor-less electronic ignition — making these final cars among the most usable and refined examples ever built.
This example is instantly recognisable by its wider arches, 13-inch alloy wheels, lowered stance and distinctive old english white roof and bonnet stripes. Inside, the cabin is elevated with alloy dashboard trim, a leather steering wheel, matching interior details and red leather upholstery; a tasteful blend of heritage and late-era refinement.
Having been in the care of our vendor for ~13 years, this John Cooper LE presents a rare opportunity to acquire a cherished, long-term owned example. It has been garage-stored throughout ownership and has benefited from front discs, callipers and a stainless exhaust. The car is offered a document portfolio and carries a current MOT valid until 21.08.2026.
