Body:
Exterior is in good condition. There are a few scratches and small dings around but overall looks very presentable and the paint shines beautifully. You can zoom into the pics to see any marks, but to help you along the way, the main bits are a scratched area above the badge on the left side of the boot, a small ding on the RH wing, scuffs on each corner of rear bumper, slight ding on the bonnet lower edge (RHS) and a little bit of paint blistering above the fuel filler flap.
Recently had rear floor/inner arch area repaired on both sides cutting out any rust and replacing with fresh zintec, and protected with oxide primer, raptor and finally the correct green. While there, the exhaust mount, exhaust shield were all welded and fettled and the whole boot floor cleaned back, protected and painted to keep it good for years to come. The car has also previously had some welding repairs at the front and the floors are original and in good condition.
Chassis;
Drives very nicely with a lovely ride, beautiful steering feel, helped in no small part by new wishbones, ball joints, wishbone bushes, top mounts & bearings, wheel bearings all round.
Brakes are relatively new on the front and the rear benefits from new shoes and new brake cylinders. Wheels could do with a simple refurb at some point. One of the wheels has a ding on the edge, which doesn't affect vibration or keeping air - could be swapped to the spare, but this has a better tyre on it. Tyres have plenty of tread with firestones on the back and Hiflys on the front. They drive well and have plenty of grip wet and dry, but TBH longer term, I'd take the tyres off, paint the wheels and put some fresh Uniroyals on, which seems the best tyre available in that size.
Powertrain;
Sweet, pleasantly torquey engine, with HG last year. Serviced with new plugs, oil, filter, air filter, new gearbox oil, drive shaft oil seals, new coolant, rocker cover gasket. HG included sending head to machine shop to ensure flatness. Full disclosure, I didn't, but should have done the valve stem seals when I did the head - there's a very occasional puff of smoke, however I will include them (they came with the HG as a kit) and it's up to the new owner if they want to bother doing them at some point.
Interior;
Good condition and it feels really special with the white and green. Overall in very good condition except the driver's seat bolster, which has burst. Green carpets and original Roland Garros logo'd mats (which I keep covered up for the most part to protect them). Original stereo half works - produces sound but is sluggish to operate (bit of an odd description I know, but it is).
I've recently replaced the heater matrix, saving the new owner this pain for at least 8 years or so hopefully. Sunroof tilts and slides freely.
Service history;
I've copious receipts for all the stuff I've done, but unfortunately it didn't come with any history. MoT until June
So overall a lovely example of the 106 Roland Garros. It's had loads of work done this past year covering many of the typical 106 foibles and is a very useable and enjoyable classic, which should be good for some time to come, but also has some room for further improvement as and when the mood takes you.
Viewing welcome (just North of Milton Keynes, about 10-15mins from M1 J15), test drive possible with proof of insurance, or I'm happy to demonstrate to you.
No scammers, offers to meet your agent at Southampton docks, African princes etc - just normal people please with an enthusiasm/fetish for old Peugeots. Hang on that is normal isn't it? Yes, yes it is.
