The 911 Carrera 4S comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.8 litre flat-six Direct Fuel Injection DFI engine that produces 385bhp & propels the all-wheel drive sportscar to 60mph in under 4.5 seconds & on to a 183mph top speed. The 997 generation 2 cars do not suffer all of the problems of early 997 generation 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Standard items include the Hill Start Assist, retractable rear spoiler, Automatic climate control, Electric windows, Headlight washers, daylight running LEDs, dual cup holders, Remote central locking, Trip computer, PSM Traction Control, ABS, Locking wheel bolts, Locking glovebox, Alarm and Immobiliser. All equipment fitted to our 911 Carrera 4S works perfectly, so the car is exactly as it left the factory in March 2009.

The Porsche Dynamic Light System headlights offer exceptional brightness, even in challenging conditions, they rotate towards the inside of a bend, based on steering angle and road speed, so as to light up more of the road ahead.

Background

Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Carrera 4S began in 2009, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection DFI which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management PCM System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation and Bluetooth.

Exterior

Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera 4S looks stunning in its optional metallic coat of Aqua Blue, a striking colour for the 997.2, especially with the red strip reflector on the rear of the wider bodyshell. Just the Carrera 4 & Carrera 4S models came in the 4.4cm wider body shell, the Carrera 2 & 2S were only sold in the narrow 911 body. The 911 Carrera 4S has been machine polished & waxed by us, which will help protect the paintwork & repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front & rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine & boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior

The Hardback Sports Seats come with optional 2-stage Heating & Porsche Crest Embossed Headrests, and just like the rest of the special order two-tone Black & Stone Grey interior leather, they are in excellent condition and provide a perfect contrast to the Aqua Blue metallic bodywork. The heated multifunction steering wheel is a fantastic option, which could only be ordered in conjunction with the PDK transmission & 2-stage seat heating. As a result, few cars were fitted with this option from the factory. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.

Engine and Transmission

Our 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with the 3.8 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera 4S engine produces 385bhp and 310ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. Our 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with the highly desired switchable sports suspension system, which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road.

The Carrera 4S is also fitted with Sport Chrono Package Plus, which adds a SPORT & SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer & blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the C4S.

Another addition is the exceptional Porsche Switchable Sports Exhaust PSE which significantly improves the sound of the 911 on any journey, without being too loud or intrusive.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS & LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Carrera 4S to respond and accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration and the headline 0-60mph time by 0.4 seconds to just 4.3 seconds.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes

Our 911 Carrera 4S comes fitted with the optional 19-inch Sport Design Lightweight Alloy Wheels, which are in great condition. The brakes are phenomenal, with factory Guards Red callipers & PORSCHE lettering in white, cross drilled & vented discs front & rear with plenty of life left in them. The tyres are Pirelli P-Zero Porsche N2 rated high performance tyres with plenty of tread all round.
