Overview
A genuinely well cared-for and increasingly rare Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon Prodrive that has remained in the same family since 2007.
This is not a modified or abused example — it’s been maintained properly and used as intended. It presents very well for its age and drives exactly as a strong WRX should.
Ownership History
I purchased the car when it was around two years old and kept it until May 2021. It was then passed to my father, who has owned it since. As he no longer drives, it was gifted to my sister — but she has decided to sell, so I’m handling the sale.
This has never been a flip or short-term ownership car — it’s been in our family for nearly 20 years.
Engine & Driving
The engine starts first turn and pulls strongly through the rev range with the classic boxer character.
- No smoke
- No turbo issues
- No unwanted noises
- Gearbox feels tight
- Clutch operates as it should
The Prodrive back box paired with the Hayward & Scott centre section gives it a perfect tone — subtle at idle, proper burble under load without being intrusive.
Air conditioning works perfectly.
Maintenance:
While in my ownership it was maintained by Xtreme Scoobys with no expense spared. Over the last few years my dad continued that approach, replacing anything showing even minor signs of wear rather than waiting for failure.
In the last ~10k miles alone it has had the cambelt, clutch and numerous preventative items replaced. New headlamps and fog lamps were fitted due to age-related wear, and even the wiper arms were replaced when they began to show corrosion.
It sits on four Michelin Pilot Sport tyres with excellent tread.
Extensive service history and supporting receipts included.
Bodywork & Condition
For a 20-year-old Subaru, the bodywork presents very well.
No rust on the arches
No bubbling paint
Panels are straight
The rear bumper had a light parking knock (reversing into a bollard). This was superficial and is being repaired.
The wheels would benefit from a refurb if you’re being particular, but they are perfectly usable as they are.
Summary:
An honest, well-maintained and increasingly hard-to-find WRX Prodrive wagon.
A significant amount of money has been invested in keeping it mechanically right — probably more than financially sensible — but that’s why it drives as it does today.
If you’re looking for a straight, usable and well-documented example rather than a modified project, this is well worth viewing.
