Description
An exceptional example of the iconic Porsche 930 Turbo, presented in its original factory Guards Red over a black leather interior with distinctive red piping. Subject to a comprehensive restoration with no expense spared, this 930 has been sympathetically uprated and now delivers an impressive 405 BHP, courtesy of an enhanced turbocharger, intercooler, and exhaust system. The car was originally Australian-supplied before being imported early in its life.
In 2020, the car underwent an extensive two-year restoration programme covering the mechanicals, bodywork, and interior. The shell was fully stripped and refinished in its original Guards Red, with the scope and quality of work undertaken estimated to total well into six figures. Many pictures and videos are available from the restoration process. Since completion, the car has covered approximately 484 miles and today presents in outstanding condition both cosmetically and mechanically. It drives superbly, sounds fantastic, and still retains the unmistakable, authentic Porsche Turbo character. The car is being sold for the current owner by the previous private collector who carried out the detailed restoration, and therefore any specific questions are more than welcomed.
The displayed mileage reflects usage since restoration under 500 miles. A substantial history file includes numerous historic MOT certificates documenting mileage up to approximately 44,000 miles. It is believed the car may have undergone a speedometer change earlier in its life. The engine number corresponds correctly with both the maintenance records and the V5C registration document. There is a significant history file supporting the car and its life prior to restoration.
In 1998, the vehicle was recorded as a Category D when values were low, which would have been attributed to relatively minor damage at a time when 930 values were considerably lower than today.
A genuine set of 1980s gold BBS wheels is available under separate negotiation. These were an original Porsche dealer option from new.
The car forms part of a private collection. It has been professionally stored, maintained on a trickle charger, and exercised periodically. Most recently serviced in September 2024 by PCT Porsche Specialists, it has covered approximately 15 miles since. The car has been professionally detailed inside and out and presents beautifully. The original seats and dashboard have been retained and carefully preserved.
Private plate not included in the sale.
