EXTERIOR

With a subtle enhancement of sills, splitters and spoilers the R32 is the definitive styling improvement over the rest of the typically reserved MK4 variants. The appeal of this example is accentuated by deep blue paintwork, a rich combination that offers a generous metallic flake. The bumper and bonnet areas are free of scuffs or marks with only minor isolated stone chips commensurate with age and mileage. The unique headlights are clear and free of moisture whilst rubbers and plastics are in superb condition.

The simple yet effective styling upgrades are finished off with a pair of chromed rolled exhaust tips.

INTERIOR

The sedate MK4 cabin is treated to some subtle styling enhancements with aluminium accents to dash, sill strips and stitching adorning the steering wheel, handbrake and gear gaiter. The heated Konig bucket seats present in exceptional order, unmarked with excellent original integrity with only the faintest of creases to the drivers bolster betraying the cars age and use. The switch gear appears fresh and clean and displays as new with no scratches to aluminium trim or iconic golf ball gear knob.

The unique carpet set fits perfectly and again shows minimal wear.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The soulful and sonorous V6 is at the heart of the R32’s appeal; in this case amplified beautifully by a Supersprint exhaust.

The in gear flexibility of the 6 cylinder makes it deceptively agile, as opposed to all out rapid, and with this example having been thoroughly serviced over the years it presents in excellent mechanical health.

The timing chain kit was replaced in 2020 alongside the clutch, flywheel and release bearing with 6 x coil packs and spark plugs also attended to.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

Volkswagen has a rich history and a common association with both OZ and BBS and something special was necessary for the R32; the OZ Aristo. This set have been recently refurbished and resemble remarkably close to original with a bright finish to the face and renewed nuts and badges. Michelin Pilot Sports are the chosen contact patch to suit both wet and dry conditions.

The blue calipers show very little wear or corrosion – with pads and discs showing plenty of life with all hardware and rear brake pipes replaced in August of 2023.

HISTORY FILE

First registered by Lincoln VW on the 27th June 2003, this superb example has been very well looked after by both the main agent and specialists over the years.

An excel spreadsheet annotates 15 oil changes with sperate entries for major works and modifications beyond standard servicing totalling over £18k. The original model specific leather owners wallet is complete inclusive of its stamped service book.

Aside from the Supersprint exhaust, the only other modification has been to the suspension; KW V3’s complimented by H&R anti – bars with drop links, rear beam bushes and track rods all installed / replaced in March of 2024.

The history folder is full of old parts / service receipts and MOT certificates to validate this extremely tidy R32.
