2000 TVR CHIMAERA

Any TVR enthusiast will tell you that the 450 is the sweet spot of the Chimaera range, more refined than the plentiful 400 model and far less brutish than the 500. That’s why there are so few available, as people don’t like to let go of the intoxicating TVR experience.

We (my son and me) have owned this car for 12 years, and it has been everything we had hoped for.

In rare, unmolested, and original condition, it features the perfect colour combination of Starmist Blue with a classic Magnolia and Prussian Blue interior.

First registered in April 2000, the car has covered just over 59,000 miles from new and has a full service history, with all MOT certificates from 2006 and service receipts from 2007 onwards.

We purchased the car from the well-regarded TVR specialists, Fernhurst Motor Company. In addition to the standard Chimaera specification, the car benefits from a sports exhaust and power steering (believe me, you need it!). There is a Pioneer CD player, which you will never use, as the mighty V8 soundtrack is far more enjoyable, especially with the top down.

During our years of ownership, if anything needed to be done to the car, it was done. This includes a full suspension refresh in 2018, the all-important outriggers in 2020, which have only seen 2,000 dry miles since.
