Description
Only 2 owners from new, so just 1 previous before my father bought the car in January 2016.
It has covered an extremely low 46,643 miles backed up by a full service history and MOT history. In fact the last service was merely 138 miles ago and it has an MOT until January 2027.
It is being sold as my father cannot drive any more, and is priced low due to the dent on the front passenger door from my dad misjudging reversing the car out of the garage back in January this year. I have looked into getting this repaired through his comprehensive insurance but with and excess of £575 that is not worth pursuing. Another thought was that if I did spend the time and money getting the dent and paintwork sorted I would then be asking at least £3750 for this (otherwise excellent) example of a V6 X-Type Estate. However with dad's increasing dementia and care needs I really do not have the time or energy to do this and would like my driveway space back!
I've also noticed the drivers side rear wheel arch is starting to show signs of some rust but this is confined to the 'unseen' area of the lip and I'd say is currently a DIY fix. Its certainly something I'd tackle if I had the time.
Having set out the 'bad bits' about the car if you are still interested and are still reading then lets go through the good stuff.
As can be seen from the Maintenance Record book and the file of invoices the Jaguar has the following service history:
- 30th June 2008 @ 7,019 miles
- 23rd June 2010 @ 17,424 miles
- 26th July 2011 @ 22,558 miles
- 15th January 2013 @ 28,694 miles
- 4th June 2014 @ 33,056 miles
- 18th January 2016 @ 39,035 miles (this is not stamped in the log but there is a full itemised receipt on file for this)
At this point it was noted that the 4WD transfer box was leaking and this was replaced a few days later on 29th January @ 39,058 miles at an eye-watering cost of over £1,400!
- 1st August 2017 @ 40,512 miles (another itemised receipt on file)
- 16th October 2019 @ 42,241 miles (yay! Stamped Maintenance Record book as well as receipt)
- 11th February 2022 @ 43,804 miles (receipt on file)
- 3rd March 2025 @ 46,505 miles (Stamped Maintenance Record book as well as receipt)
The car now has 46,643 miles on it so as previously mentioned that was only 138 miles ago.
There are numerous other receipts on file for various other bits of incidental maintenance and accessories as well.
Having driven the car a few times I can say it is very comfortable and smooth, the Duratec-based 2.5 AJ-V6 sounding refined and being well suited to the switchable automatic gearbox. The Jaguar has a lovely cabin that does feel special to be in, though I don't like the steering wheel cover, but I'm sure this could be removed if you wanted. Performance is adequate but its no BMW (you might notice from a couple of photos why I might be biased).
I believe the colour is metallic Zircon Blue and it has a cream leather interior, though I'd say it was more light beige than cream. You can judge for yourself really from the photographs. There are no rips or tears on any of the upholstery.
There is plenty of equipment on the car:
- Electrically adjustable and heated front seats.
- Climate control / Air con.
- Parking sensors front and rear.
- On board computer with sat nav and entertainment system with CD.
- Cruise control.
- Electric windows.
- Electric mirrors.
Dad replaced the wheels not long after buying the car for 7" x 17" MSW type 19 alloys which I do think suit the car.
The tyres are Uniroyal Rainsport 3s in 225/45 x 17 size, with 7mm tread on the front and 8mm on the rear.
There are the original 2 keys with the car and the full owners handbook complete with radio code.
The Jaguar will come with the private plate on it, apparently valued at £500, but other than disguising the car's age is probably not of much relevance to anyone else. Still, its a nice bonus and you could always sell that yourself if so inclined.
As stated at the beginning of the advert this Jaguar is priced to sell taking into account that whoever buys it will want to get the dent and paintwork on the passenger side sorted out.
You are welcome to test drive the car if you bring proof that you have comprehensive insurance to drive a vehicle not owned by you.
Obviously I'm not interested in any part-exchanges, silly offers or calls from agencies.
