1996 VOLVO 800 Series

Volvo 850R | 165,415 miles | Period correct interior in excellent condition | Great bodywork for the age

This is a UK spec Volvo 850R I have owned since Jan 2022, it has 6 former keepers prior to my ownership. It took me 1 year to find the car in this specification - Original Volan wheels, original radio, un-tarnished seats etc.

Service/Maintenance History wise - there is a box full of paperwork (see last photo in album) that I have sifted through and documented key points below

-02/2021 - New Coolant expansion tank

- 03/2021- New catback exhaust from jetex exhaust systems fitted

-09/2021 ABS sensors replaced

-01/2022 - Major service (oil filter and sump plug, oil change, fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, Transmission fluid drained and filled, AC checked for leaks, AC re-gas)

-01/2022 - 4 new Pirelli P-Zero tyres and vehicle tracking done, groom bluetooth audio and integrated mous phone charger]

-03/2022 - suspension (Koni STR shock absorbers and Lesjofors springs, control arm, link rods, lower transmission torque arm)

-03/2022 - Heater Matrix

-05/2022 - Rear main seal replaced (gear box out job)

-05/2022 - PCV & Rear Crankshaft Oil Seak

-06/2022 - AC clutch repaired & AC re-tested and confirmed working

-03/2023 - Major Service - Oil & Filter, Throttle cable, top engine mounting bush, lower engine mounting, Timing belt tensions and water pump &, Aux belt tensioner and idler, Larger Front brake disc and pads with caliper carrier & Larger Rear brake disc and pads with caliper carrier

- 02/2024 - New resistor for Heater Blower motor

-09/2024 - Respray/Lacquer & polish spoiler, boot lid & repair & blend mark on roof

-2025 to 2026 - Load cover repair kit fitted, thermostat & coolant sensor, air flow meter, new batter, new side repeater, new fuel pump (via Volvo specialist), New spare tyre

Sadly there is no volvo 850r service book, I messaged a few of the previous owners of the car who said they haven’t found it. I know which owner sadly lost it, however the owner I purchased the car from managed to get the service record print out from volvo

In my ownership I have used a combination of a known volvo 850r specialist and my father in law’s expertise who has owned multiple volvo’s including the 850 and currently has 3 classic volvo’s himself!

In terms of things that need doing to it, whilst I have touched up the wheels a proper tyre off powder coat of the wheels would not go amiss

I have loved driving and owning this car, its timeless design & incredible practicality make it hard to not put a smile on one's face.

Sadly due to purely lack of usage and too many cars I will have to part ways with my cherished wagon
