Overview

Successfully bridging the gap between the brand’s high-performance DNA and the pragmatic requirements of a four-door luxury saloon, we present the wonderful Porsche Panamera 4S. Launched in 2009, the Panamera has been around for some time, and the model we bring to market today is the wonderful first-generation facelift 2014 Panamera 4S.

Receiving some thoughtful mid-cycle facelift improvements that sharpen its aesthetics, the fastback silhouette has great presence on the road, sitting low and wide (even lower with the Sport Plus button pressed), yet remains unmistakably Porsche.

Inside, the cabin is a masterclass in driver-focused luxury. The interior focuses on a mass of leather, brushed aluminium, and piano-black trim, encapsulating an enormous amount of technology. Featuring the Sport Chronograph pack, the Panamera has pretty much everything you need… front and rear adaptive sports seats - the front seats are also heated, a colour 4.8-inch screen, cruise control, four-zone climate control, and a sunroof, to name a few, and all while being perfectly capable of carrying four adults and luggage in the decent-sized boot.

It’s under the bonnet where a lot of changes were made: moving from the naturally aspirated V8 of its predecessor, a more efficient 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 power unit was used. This brings the power to approximately 420 bhp, and with a massive 384 lb-ft of torque, the power is delivered with a linear smoothness that begins much earlier in the rev range. Pair this with the lightning-fast seven-speed PDK gearbox and the Sport Chronograph pack, and all of a sudden, you have a four-door fastback capable of reaching 0–60 mph in around 4.2 seconds. And with this being the 4S, let’s not forget the all-wheel-drive handling with Porsche’s superb PASM suspension system.

This well-specced example has been owned by the vendor for the past five years, which he’s enjoyed immensely. So much so, after buying a Taycan to go alongside the Panamera, he’s since sold the Taycan and purchased a later model Panamera, which is why he’s parting company with this 66,000-mile 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo.

Overall, the 2014 Panamera 4S is best described as a “sports car in a suit”. Combining strong performance, distinctive design, and genuine everyday usability in a way few cars of its time could match, it excels as a fast, luxurious grand tourer that comfortably handles both daily driving and long-distance journeys with absolute ease.

When you sit back and think for a moment about what this car cost when new (over £100,000), you will quickly realise that, with this specification, relatively low mileage for its age, excellent service history, and condition, the price they are fetching makes the Panamera a bargain for what is possibly the ultimate in luxury fastbacks.
