The 2020 Kia e-Niro Electric Estate 150kW 4 64kWh 5dr Auto represented a significant specification update for the model year, introducing the high-end 4 trim to replace the previous First Edition. Powered by a 150kW (201bhp) electric motor and a 64kWh lithium-ion battery, it delivers a strong 062 mph time of 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 104 mph. One of its most compelling features for the time was the official WLTP range of 282 miles, which often translates to a real-world range of approximately 230 to 250 miles depending on driving conditions. The 4 trim specification was the range-topping version in the UK for 2020, offering a luxury-focused interior and exterior. It is easily identified by its 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with bi-function projection, and a power-sliding sunroof. Inside, the cabin is finished with full black leather upholstery, featuring an 8-way power-adjustable drivers seat and heated front seats. The tech suite was overhauled for this model year, moving to a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, UVO Connect telematics, and an 8-speaker JBL premium sound system. Charging capability is practical for long-distance travel, with a maximum DC rapid charging rate of 77kW. Using a 100kW rapid charger, the battery can reach 80% capacity in about 54 minutes, while a more common 50kW charger takes roughly 75 minutes for the same boost. For home charging, a standard 7.2kW wallbox will provide a full charge from empty in approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes. The car also features steering wheel-mounted paddles that allow the driver to manually adjust the level of regenerative braking across four distinct stages.
