This 928 GTS is accompanied by a comprehensive history file including service invoices, MOT records back to 2002 and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. From 2017 the car has been maintained by Chris at GCR Central Porsche, who carried out servicing and sympathetic upgrades, including the RITECH clamp to protect the engine and flexi‑plate.

Condition and driving impression

Exterior condition: Professionally repainted before it hit the road, to Pearl White. The car presents beautifully in photos. Some areas of paint would benefit from attention, but overall, the bodywork is in excellent condition, and well-maintained.

Interior condition: Dash and door cards are unmarked and unwarped. Seats show no wear, and the cabin is in pristine condition for its age.

Mechanical condition: Drives as you would expect a low-mileage, well-maintained 928 to drive. The chassis is tight, and the V8 performs as you'd expect from this late, flagship model. Regular servicing by Porsche dealers and specialists has kept the car in excellent mechanical order, see below for a run through of the service dates and details.

Desirability: One of the last cars from the production run and a desirable example for collectors. The colour-change when new, to a colour that only one other GTS was painted, makes for an interesting car.

Provenance and story

This car has an unusual early history. It was built in Z8Z8 Metallic Black, but the first owner requested a full factory quality repaint to Pearl White before the car was registered. The supplying dealer AFN Porsche stripped and repainted the car while new. That repaint is documented in the paperwork and forms a distinctive part of the car’s provenance. The current owner has retained the car for many years and has kept a full file of invoices and records, some 3" thick. The full file contains many additional entries not listed below and is available for inspection.
