Overview
The original Chevrolet Camaro remains one of the most iconic models from the American muscle car wars of the 1960s. Instantly recognisable and brutishly capable, it rightly won the hearts and minds of the V8 adoring public and continues to excite today. So when General Motors announced it was reviving the Camaro in 2009 after a break of seven years, there was much rejoicing.
Completely redesigned, the fifth generation Camaro was based upon a concept car and took many styling cues from the original, first-gen Camaro whilst still offering blistering levels of performance from a choice of both V6 and V8 engines in various states of tune and displacement.
Well received and widely lauded as a return to form for Chevrolet, GM – bolstered by the car's success – developed a sixth generation Camaro that debuted in 2015 to equally fierce rapture. Building upon the impressive characteristics of its predecessor, the final incarnation of the Camaro was named as Motor Trend's car of the year, such were its inherent qualities. Available in both coupe and convertible form the Camaro was again available with a choice of engines, albeit more limited this time around and also including a turbocharged inline four-cylinder. But if you're going to own a Camaro then it’s hard to resist the lure of the V8.
Which is exactly what we have available here – a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS equipped with the 6.2-litre LT1 V8 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Being a 2SS model it features many enhancements over the standard variants such as full leather interior and Bose audio, amongst other factory Improvements. With 455bhp on tap and 455lb-ft of torque it's plenty fast enough and can hit 60mph from parked in just four seconds and comes to market in excellent overall condition. Resplendent in its bright white paintwork with contrasting dark grey wheels it certainly looks the part and is reportedly driving well, a claim evinced by the car's healthy service record and low mileage.

Summary
Let’s face it, a V8-powered muscle car is always a good idea and the Camaro has consistently been one of the greatest to ever play that particular game, from the very first back in 1967 to this latest generation 2SS. More refined than a standard model and with a host of additional features this fire-breathing brute has plenty of bells and whistles to keep things more than comfortable when required but lean on the loud pedal and it delivers everything you would want from one of America's burly best.
