Ford Transit MK1 Pickup . This is a RHD Import from South Africa and its extremely solid. Its been here a couple of years and is fully UK registered and we have the V5 here. Really original old girl which starts runs and drives, has had a fair bit spent on it recently, but needs a bit cosmetic TLC to take it to the next level.Body - Early style MK1 transit with early grille, rear cab, pedals up through the floor. Very solid from front to back. Underneath is exceptional for its age. One rust bleb on driver side wing. Bit of paint cracking on bonnet. Overall fairly straight and presentable for a van thats been worked. The rear tub has had the sides and floor lined with a chequer plate. Door steps , sills, wings,chassis all solid. Replacement front and rear lights fitted. New mirrors fitted. rear tailgate has a few cracks in paint and could do with the lettering painted. looks like its been rubbed back to paint but not completed.Mechanics - Recently upgraded to 2.0 Pinto which starts and runs well. A bit flat till it warms up. After a couple of minutes it runs spot on. 4 speed box, Brakes and clutch feel fine. Gearbox is good. . We have had it round the industrial estate and it drives fine. Its not done a lot of miles since the 2.0 was fitted so may need a bit minor tinkering but overall its very good. All lights, wipers etc in working orderInterior - Very basic but original. Seats need tidied up.Wheels - Standard steels. New tyres recently fitted which are virtually unusedCool old pickup with room for a bit cosmetic improvement.
