1990 Ferrari

A early non-cat, non-adjust example; this Ferrari F40 was supplied new to its first custodian on 7th February 1990. The car was purchased for 202.6m Italian Lira, equivalent to €145,995 at the time, and registered to Paolo Perotti of Fimair S.r.L.

The car would remain in his care for a period of five years before its export to its next keeper in Germany in March of 1995. Understood to have been sourced by official Ferrari dealership Tamsen GmbH, the car was listed for sale before being sold.

Norbert Keck would become the car’s next owner. Born in June 1955, it is tempting to assume that Keck purchased the F40 as a 40th birthday present to himself. His relationship with Ferrari was close; so much so that in 1997 he returned the F40 to Tamsen and drove away in a brand new F50.

The F40 subsequently passed to Christian Imbusch, a real?estate mogul known for showcasing the rewards of his business success. Imbusch used the F40 exactly as an enthusiast would, and during his ownership the car was displayed at Ferrari Racing Days and at the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.

Purchased by property magnate Jörg Schröder in 2000, this example has remained largely under the radar since. Maintenance was carried out by Schröder’s preferred official dealer, Eberlein Automobile of Kassel.

As recently as August 2025, the F40 underwent a major mechanical overhaul by Martini Motors. During this work, it received new cambelts, brakes, fuel tanks, turbos, tyres, and a clutch, ensuring both drivability and longevity.

Offered today with its original book pack and tool kit, this “non?cat, non?adjust” F40 also retains its matching engine and body. As such, it represents a highly desirable example built in an increasingly sought?after configuration, and today presents with 47,960 km. Whilst this example will pass through our workshops as a part of the sale, it is available to view by appointment immediately.
