SERIOUS OFFERS CONSIDERED as new car coming.
Would LOVE to keep the ODC but only space for one car in the garage and cant keep classic in the street.
Bought 8 yrs ago with 000s spent since on upgrades plus annual service costs, this little motor has taken us across the UK and Ireland in all weathers. Garaged throughout my keepership, the Odyssey started life in Jersey in 1977 and a few years in Spain just prior to my purchase from a real MG fan, so benefited from less salted roads. Note: Historic vehicle. Free road tax. Built June 1977. The records show a new speedo fitted in 1992 at 16k miles so add this to odometer figure currently 46980 = 62980 miles and counting with ongoing regular drives. ( Odo first, actualin brackets). Last year I cleaned underside and applied zinc galvanised paint then epoxy chassis paint, before treating with Lanoguard, so that's the next few years covered. 4 new Goodyear Vectors. Recon box Inc overdrive at 42k(58k), new clutch ; thrust bearing, slave cylinder last year at 44k(60k). Revotec fan, electronic distributor. Front discs and pads last year. Parabolic springs, Gaz dampers all round, lowered springs, Stainless manifold and system. Well maintained throughout the years with annual oil and plug replacement. Regular Renovo waterproofing of the hood. Kilmat sound deadening pads to panels. Discrete security system. Massive history file. Vinyl seats, slight tears drivers bolster but repairable. Very comfortable on long journeys with between 25 to 28mpg on runs. Great torquey low stressed engine, solid thrumming between 2000 to 3000rpm sounds great. No need to push into 4000s rpm. See rolling road tune from 2019 image shows 226 lbs ft torque at the wheels. We'll miss the ODC but, whilst bought with intention to convert to a V8, as rubber bumper model needs less cutting than chrome, from the start I upgraded to use safely and to maintain reliability on lots of journeys. So am looking to sell. Frankly I'd a) need to spend several 000s more to convert and b) it'd be a waste of a darn good engine and box so I'm hoping to send to a good new home for maybe a younger person to develop and further a love of such historic well engineered vehicles. Happy to answer any genuine questions and can provide more evidence including video or photos of specific features/running once assured of enquirer bona fides.
