Description
The F355 Spider debuted in 1995, with its Pininfarina design honed through ~1,800 hours in the wind tunnel, resulting in a blend of elegant style and aerodynamic performance. It bridges the gap between the old small V8s and the more recent 200MPH supercars. It's the last hand-built Ferrari yet the first to embrace modern technology. Ferrari developed the new F129B V8 engine for the F355, using the V12 F1 program to adopt five-valve-per-cylinder heads, which raises the rev limit to a whopping 8,500RPM. Boasting a 6-speed manual transmission, it's a real driver's car ready to take on the road ahead with the ultimate level of control. Push the accelerator to the floor, and you'll feel the performance available here. The Ferrari is fitted with a lovely set of factory 18" Speedline alloys, each one is in good condition, showing only age-related signs of wear. There are a few sections of the wheels where the lacquer shows with a little lift to the finish, and we noted a minor scuff on the rear nearside wheel. The black dash area appears to be in great shape with no major issues to report. The top of the dash presents well and without splits, cracking, or warping, typical for this model the glovebox cover is not as tight. The odometer displayed ~30,107 miles at the time of our visit. The styling looks great in the cabin space with the black leather offset against the tan trim. The car comes complete with a set of Bridgestone Expedia tyres with a tread spec of 225/40 at the front. At the rear, the car is equipped with the same tyres, with a wider spec of 265/40. Their condition looks good as relatively low miles have been added since the rears were changed in 2010 and the fronts in 2012. Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior of this F355 and a closer look at the wheels and tyres. Over ~1,800 hours of wind tunnel analysis were carried out on the F355's production while designing the body. Innovative design is key here, as the car incorporates a "nolder" profile on the tail and fairing on the underbody that generates downforce when at speed. The exterior of the F355 Spider shows well, with shut lines and panel gaps looking good, and the car looks lovely out on the road. The car had some damage early in its life in August 1998 that resulted in a Category D insurance marker being placed on the car. We've highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take the time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what's on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves. This car comes to market from ~17 years ownership, covering ~10,000 miles in that time with the bulk of that being when it was first purchased. With an upgraded Capristo sports exhaust, low mileage, and a recent service in August that included cambelt change, this car is very much ready to go.
