2001 BMW M3

BMW M3 – Manual | Original Condition | Family-Owned

This BMW M3 has been in the same family since around 2014. It was originally purchased by my brother from a close friend, and during his ownership it was used as a second car, covering very low mileage each year (as reflected in the MOT history). It has always been maintained as required and well cared for.

I purchased the car in August 2025 after returning my company vehicle, using it mainly for commuting to London Heathrow (ULEZ). It has proven to be very reliable—starts first time, every time, and drives exceptionally well on the motorway. However, it was only ever intended as a short-term solution and isn’t quite practical enough for my needs.

This is a completely original example, which is becoming increasingly rare. Unlike many M3s on the market, it has not been modified or altered. The car has now covered 113,000 miles, having done more in the past 6 months than in the previous few years.

Recent work includes:

New shocks/absorbers (September 2024)

Major service carried out by BMW specialist RBM Hampshire (Summer 2025)

The car drives very well and does not disappoint.

Points to note (reflected in price):

Driver’s window does not currently go down (has been like this for some time)

Brake/disc warning light is on the dashboard (believed to be a faulty sensor; passed MOT)

Both keys require new batteries

Minor rust spots on lower boot lid

Slight paint discolouration on rear bumper and one side skirt

Specification:

6-speed manual gearbox – smooth through all gears

Upgraded Harman Kardon sound system with factory subwoofer (rear armrest)

Grey full leather interior – rear seats in excellent condition; front seats show age-related wear/cracking

Original alloy wheels

Supplied with hardtop (paintwork in good condition; headlining slightly sagging but easily fixable)

Cruise control

Metallic silver.

This is a straight, honest, and increasingly hard-to-find manual M3 in standard specification, with long-term family ownership. Do not expect perfect but it is what is is and priced fairly.
