Description
Ninemeister are at the top of the game when it comes to building Porsche 911’s. Their vertically integrated business is designed to exceed quality expectations at every point during the build process, from the body work, to the wiring loom, and everything in-between. That’s why our good friend and local client Andy commissioned them to build his dream 911.
Unlike many cars of this style, rather than a ‘back-dated’ 993 or 964, this car started life as a left-hand drive 3.2l G-series in 1987, Italian registered.
The car was a ground up project, which started with the full bare-metal strip of the body, the fabrication of the wider arches, and the unblemished repaint in Oslo Blue with orange detailing.
The engine is a fully rebuilt 993 non-varioram unit, running on a MoTec ECU, upgraded injectors and intake system, producing comfortably over 300 BHP, which in a car that weighs just 1,150kg is alarmingly fast on the road.
The gearbox is the legendary G50 unit with the addition of a Wavetrac LSD unit which as well as giving you the opportunity to be a hooligan every now and again, also gives the car a far more stability at high speed.
The handling is also on point, using period Turbo torsion bars, anti-roll bars, Bilstein dampers and 7” & 9” Fuchs wheels, the car is immensely capable, yet retains the classic 911 characteristics that we all know and love.
Such is the quality and execution of this project that it has been the subject of several top-tier journalist reviews:
John Mayhead (Global concours judge and editor of Hagerty Price Guide) said “The project is the culmination of years of preparation. The result is extraordinary, with a car that has been both mechanically and physically improved beyond recognition. The attention to detail is phenomenal, with paint, interior and detailing all finished to the highest possible standards”.
JJ Volans (journalist and editor of Modern Classics Magazine, Classic and Sports Cars and Parkers) said “Lying in the Goldilocks zone between road and racer. Yes, it’s still loud, but its edgy motorsport growl is just on the right side of raucous. This 911 is both fearsome and forgiving. Straight-line pace is scorching, but its pendulum like handling poise is tamed. It’s surefooted and confidence inspiring. In short, an expertly-honed 911 that’s a credit to its creators.
Since completion this special 911 has covered a shade over 5,000 miles in Andy’s careful ownership and has just had a comprehensive service and fettle at 9M.
