A stunningly rare early flat floor 1962 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe, finished in Old English White with red hide interior and carpets. This is a genuine matching-numbers example (Chassis no. 885461 / Engine no. R3556-9) that was originally dispatched to Jaguar Cars, New York, in January 1962.

This highly sought-after early specification car features the flat floor, welded bonnet louvres, aluminium centre console, and retains all the hallmarks that make the first-generation E-Types so special.

The car underwent a total nut-and-bolt restoration by respected UK Jaguar specialists Butlins & Sons Classic Cars in 2006 at 35,972 miles, when it was also converted to right-hand drive and fitted with an upgraded all-synchromesh gearbox. The original Gearbox is still in storage and will be included in the sale. Additional enhancements include an extra cooling fan and full Waxoyl anti-corrosion treatment. This Beautiful example has only covered 1167 miles since its restoration in 2006, being cared for meticulously and only driven on the best days the UK has to offer.

In 2015, the engine was entrusted to AMK Engineering for a fast road rebuild costing over £8,000. The work included:
