Background

The Boxster was Porsche’s first road vehicle to be originally designed as a roadster since the iconic (& now priceless) 1950’s 550 Spyder. The flat-six, mid-engine layout in the Boxster provides a low centre of gravity, near-perfect weight distribution, & neutral handling. The facelift version of the Porsche Boxster was introduced in February 2009. The Boxster flat six 2.9 litre engine was completely re-designed for the gen 2. The new engine does away with the Intermediate Shaft, which proved to be a weak link in pre-2009 engines, & has new cylinder coatings which are not prone to prematurely wearing or bore scoring. The front bumper was redesigned along with new front & rear lights, with the addition of daylight running lights in the front bumper. The side vents are painted in contrasting silver & the rear bumper gained a twin diffuser style lower edge to enhance the styling further.

Exterior

Our hand selected Boxster looks stunning in Guards Red, a striking Porsche colour in any light. The unmarked 18-inch Boxster S wheels are the perfect contrast to the paintwork. The Boxster has been machine polished & waxed by us, which will help protect the paintwork & repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front & rear LED lights. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine & boot struts also operate as they should. The Black fabric hood is in excellent condition & operates perfectly, we have cleaned & retreated the hood with the Autoglym Hood Cleaner & Protector Kit so it will remain in fantastic condition for the foreseeable future.

Interior

The Boxster comes with Black leather comfort seats that have the 2-stage seat heating & electric backs. All of the interior leathers are in excellent condition. There are no major marks or signs of wear to any of the trim parts, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.

Engine and Transmission

Our Boxster is equipped with the 2.9 litre flat six engine. The Boxster S engine produces 252bhp and 214ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 45:55 ensures high directional stability & superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.

The Boxster is fitted with Sport Chrono Package Plus, which adds a SPORT & SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer & blip the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the Boxster. The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS & LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Boxster to respond & accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration & the headline 0-60mph time by 0.3 seconds to just 5.6 seconds.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes

Our Boxster comes fitted with the 18-inch Boxster S II lightweight alloy wheels finished in Metallic Silver, which are unmarked, free of kerbing damage & corrosion. The brakes are phenomenal, with factory Satin Black callipers & PORSCHE lettering in white, cross drilled & vented discs front & rear with plenty of life left in them, we have just had the front brakes replaced. The tyres are matching Porsche N1 rated Bridgestone Potenza RE050A high performance tyres, with lots of tread remaining.

The car is HPI clear and comes complete with 6 months warranty & roadside/home assistance.
