2008 CATERHAM SEVEN

2008 Caterham R500D, plaque #10, with the 263bhp 2.0 Duratec and Quaife sequential gearbox.

I've owned the car for nearly seven years and it has covered just 7,250 miles. It's a properly special R500 with all the important options and has recently had a significant amount of work carried out by some of the best-known Caterham specialists.

A couple of years ago the car went to Boss Racing to investigate an oil weep. With the engine removed, some galvanic corrosion was discovered around the lower chassis/skins. Rather than patching or ignoring it, I decided to have the car done properly.

The chassis went to Arch Motors, where it was renovated and reskinned, before going to Tony "The Brush" at TSK for a complete repaint in Roulette Green.

While the engine was out, Boss Racing stripped, inspected and refreshed it before refitting it. The car has covered fewer than 100 miles since the engine work was completed. The work is documented and I'm very happy for a prospective buyer to speak to Boss about it.

The result is an R500 that has had the sort of major chassis and mechanical work that many cars of this age will eventually require, already completed by the right people.

I'm 6'4" and fit comfortably thanks to the lowered floors.

The car has been used for a handful of track days during my ownership but has never been raced. As far as I'm aware it had never been used on track prior to my ownership.

The car was originally orange and the V5 still records this colour. It is now finished in Roulette Green following the full TSK repaint.

I also have the carbon airbox, Double-D cage, windscreen and weather gear available. Happy to discuss these with anyone genuinely interested in the car.
