Description
It's time to sell my 2004 DB7 Vantage Volante.
It has been in my family since 2013 when my Dad bought it. He cared for it until 2018 when he gifted it on to me as he was no longer able to get in and out of it and it's been in my care ever since.
What you get. I could go on about all the things that all the other DB7s have but if you're already looking at DB7s, you'll know all of that and I shan't attempt to patronise you with more of the same. What you may not get from the other ads is an honest assessment of the car and I'll give you that because I'm an apalling liar.
It's (very) pretty, and has a big reliable smooth if thirsty engine.
This one is blue, the exterior paint is in good condition with the exception from the slight signs of normal use. It was professionally detailed in 2018 and I've been careful with it since,
I've done my best to keep the roof in good condition I've kept it treated with waterproofing and has a taught lining. The Aston specialist confirmed that the roof is in good shape but does have normal signs of wear. It goes up and down smoothly and quickly.
It has a blue and white interior that looks great, the steering wheel has a few ring scratches on the top but you don't notice it. Some of the carpet was replaced before I owned the car, it’s in great condition.
This car came with a heated windscreen, this no longer works and I believe is a fault with the wiring of the screen. It doesn’t work in so far as I’m aware, I haven’t been out in conditions that required it’s use.
The OEM stereo was replaced with a Kenwood DAB/Bluetooth unit which works well.
You also get the tonneau cover, the Aston Martin umbrella and the wind deflector, the toolkit and the service book along with every single receipt I've had for it and most of the receipts and MOT certificates since it was bought in 2004.
The Michelin Pilot 4S tyres are like new, I bought them in late 2024 and have only done a few hundred miles on them, these are the correct tyres for the DB7 and the difference between them and any other is huge in terms of driving feel and performance.
The suspension is in good order, the drop links on the Anti Roll Bars will need replacing at some juncture in the not too distant future but for now are serviceable.
The wheels have very light marks and no kerbing, I'd say they could do with repainting and some point soon but it's not urgent. The brakes have plenty of miles and years left in them.
There's minor corrosion on the bottom of the car, it's not terrible nor is it abnormal - that being said I've preempted the need to repair the footwells and bought the official repair patches, they will come with the car as well. There's a few small bubbles on the right front wheel arch, the extent is apparent in the photo, repair should be relatively straightforward.
The battery has recently been replaced with a good quality battery that should last for quite some time, there's a tracker in the car but I've not used it, details will be included with the car.
With the intention of selling, I had a health check completed at the last service, they mentioned a misting around the diff, which is apparently normal for a DB7, that the exhaust bolts are corroded and might need replacing and the drop links which should be monitored.
Driving wise the car is really smooth and pleasant to drive and should make for plenty of fun trips.
The car is priced to sell, I'm very happy to talk about the history of the car and its condition and also send further images if needed.
