2004 PORSCHE BOXSTER

Here we have a really nice, low mileage "facelift" Boxster 2.7 from the final year of production. First registered in March 2004 by Porsche Centre Exeter with the registration number WA04DCY, this lightweight "no frills" Boxster 2.7 was specified with just two factory options - metallic Atlas Grey paint, and 18" 996.2 Carrera alloy wheels. The result is a gloriously simple Boxster, that drives superbly and benefits from it's lightweight specification - the complete AC system alone in one of these cars probably weighs at least 25kgs!

The facelift 986 models were produced in 2003 and 2004 at the end of the production run, and featured a number of enhancements over the earlier models - slightly more power (up from 220bhp to 228bhp in the 2.7), a new hood design with a heated glass rear window, revised bumpers and air intakes, and a few additions to the interior, notably a glove box and cupholders (how modern!).

A very genuine low mileage Boxster with just 55,389 miles covered in the last 22 years, we first sold the car in December 2023 to a lovely chap in Plymouth, who swapped it with us for a 987 Boxster. We then sold it to a customer in Somerset, who is very particular about his cars. He has now bought a super low mileage 981 Boxster from us, so WA04DCY is back in stock for the third time, and looking as stunning as ever.

The car has a very good service history, with 11 stamps in the service record from a mix of Porsche dealers and specialists, and at regular intervals over the years. We prepared the car for sale in 2023 with a Major service, new spark plugs, drive belt, a brake fluid change, new front brake discs and pads, new inner track rods, and refurbishment of the 18" Carrera wheels. These are fitted with N-rated Pirelli PZero Rosso tyres. We also replaced the original exhaust silencer with a Dansk stainless steel item to the original pattern. We have completed two further Minor services since then, in April and October 2025.

On the road, WA04DCY feels great, the 228bhp 2.7 litre flat six providing lively performance, which combined with supple suspension and direct steering delivers a wonderful driving experience. The brakes are powerful, the gear change smooth and the clutch weight nice and light, just how a well set up 986 Boxster should feel.
