Overview
The DB9 walked so that the Vantage could run; developed upon the VH platform (also shared with with the DBS, Rapide and second-generation Vanquish) with a Ford-backed budget, the Vantage was to become the most popular Aston Martin of its generation, only being out-sold numerous years later by the now-ubiquitous DBX.
Starting out with a 4.3-litre engine, later models benefitted from an enlarged 4.7-litre powerplants which also saw a bump in power figures. Even more important for many enthusiasts, however, is the provision of a third pedal and a manual transmission; think of it as the cherry on top of an already delicious cake.
This particular example ticks both of the above boxes, and has some tasteful factory upgrades, including special-order Storm Black paintwork, upgraded audio and has covered less than 38,000 miles from new, all whilst being maintained by a mixture of Aston Martin main dealers and recognised marque specialists. In other words, there’s a lot to like here, made all the more desirable by the folding roof as we start to see the first glimpses of summer on the horizon.
If you’ve ever been debating making the jump into an Aston Martin, now is the time, and the VH-platform Vantage is arguably the best way to go. In other words, happy bidding!

Summary
VH-platform Vantages are having their moment in the sun right now, and it’s not hard to see why; bona-fide supercar performance and that special ‘feeling’ of an Aston Martin, but with an impressive reliability record, extensive specialist and enthusiast support and a whole array of upgrades (if that’s your thing) make these Vantages a fantastic proposition for any driving enthusiast, all wrapped up in a svelte package that is not only beautiful to look at, but genuinely usable on a day-to-day basis.
This example benefits from not only a retractable roof (which looks better and better as we work our way into the warmer months) but also factory special-order paintwork, and the all-important manual gearbox. In other words, what more could you want?
