Description
There was a time when the answer to crossing continents quickly - properly quickly - was a front-engined V12 Ferrari. No SUVs, no hybrid systems, just long legs and a big engine up front.
The 612 Scaglietti, launched in 2004, was Ferrari’s modern take on that formula. Styled by Pininfarina, it split opinion early on, but time has been kind - it once felt controversial, but now reads understated and elegant. More importantly, it’s a genuine four-seater. Not an afterthought, but a proper GT. A true successor to the 456, just faster, more usable, and more advanced.
This example was supplied new by Maranello Egham in May 2010 and is a later One-to-One (OTO) car. Finished in Nero Daytona over tan leather, it’s exactly how you’d want one - not to mention the glass roof… The paint presents beautifully, and as an HGT2 car, it sits on the correct 20-inch Challenge-style wheels, refurbished by H.R. Owen in 2022.
Inside, it’s all properly done. Tan leather throughout, Cavallino-stitched seats in excellent condition, and a panoramic glass roof that lifts the whole cabin. The manettino switch remains front and centre - a reminder that this is still very much a Ferrari when you want it to be.
Under the bonnet sits the 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V12 from the 575 Superamerica. 533bhp, 434 lb-ft, and paired with the improved F1A gearbox. Quiet when cruising, properly alive when pushed.
Maintenance has been exactly as it should be. Over £18,000 has been spent historically with specialists including H.R. Owen, Joe Macari and Meridien Modena. In May 2025, H.R. Owen South London carried out over £10,000 worth of work, including a full annual service with cambelts and auxiliary belts, replacement filters, fluids, and a thorough safety check. Additional items included a new window regulator and driver’s door alignment - the sort of details that keep a car feeling right.
The MOT history shows consistent mileage and clean passes, with the car now sitting at just over 21,000 miles.
The 612 occupies a sweet spot. Big, comfortable and properly usable, but still powered by a naturally aspirated V12 that is becoming increasingly scarce. No filters, no compromise, just a great engine and a long road ahead.
As ever, a full digital file is available on request, including images, walkaround videos and service history. The car can be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
