1997 TVR GRIFFITH

This stunning TVR Griffith 500 was subject to a full chassis and engine restoration by ourselves in 2020 at 18065 miles. Having suffered a radiator leak which caused the engine to overheat and the headgasket to fail it was decided to take the opportunity to carry out a full rebuild of the engine inc the modified top hat liners which stop further head gasket issues.

At the same time the body and chassis were separated and the chassis fully restored including new outriggers etc, shot blasted and powder coated of the chassis and all suspension components. These were all re-assembled using new bushes, dampers, balljoints, wheel bearings, brakes, pipework etc.

The car then had a full respray in its original Rover Amethyst Purple to restore the original factory condition. The dash veneer was also replaced with a new Walnut version. In 2014 new carpets and upgraded door cards were trimmed and replaced by Trim Unique and a Surface and Design split roof was manufactured and trimmed to suit. This gives the benefit of extra boot space with the roof off and also proper weather protection with the roof on.

Originally this Griffith was a Henley Heritage demonstrator and was purchased by the current owner in April 1998. Kept as part of a substantial car collection it has been used sparingly over the years.

The service books, invoices, original warranty card, AA membership card, red key card, spare keys and MOTs going back to 2000 are all present.
