Description
This Renault sport Megane is numbered as the very first car, and boasts excellent provenance as well as low mileage coming from the Renault Collection and been one of the press cars
Its engine is a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four, producing up to 275hp and driving the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential.
Only 250 Megane Trophy-Rs were built, of which only 30 were delivered to the UK market. The door sill plaques on this car confirm it is number 1 of the 250.
It was owned by Renault UK from new, used as a press car (driven by Nico Prost on Fifth Gear, also driven by Chris Harris and featured in Auto car, Auto Express and driving), before being transferred to the heritage fleet.
The odometer shows just 13,369 miles from new. The Arctic White paintwork is in generally good condition, but does have stone chips around the front end, at the trailing edges of the doors, and in a few other vulnerable spots around the lower body, commensurate with road and track use.
In the cabin, the leather and Alcantara seat upholstery is in great shape, with no noticeable wear or damage. There is very light wear to the Alcantara around the steering wheel rim, but the interior is in generally excellent condition.
Recently serviced at Renault and back to storage.
