Details & Specification:
Summer is around the corner - but are you ready? If acquiring the perfect Italian barchetta is part of your plans, then this 458 Spider may be the one you’ve been waiting for.
Registered new in the UK on 19 July 2013 and presented in the timeless combination of Rosso Corsa over Crema leather, Chassis 197453 is arguably one of the most classically specified and intelligently optioned 458 Spiders in the UK. Recently available from a small private collection in London, and with only 3 previous keepers from new, the odometer currently shows 26,457 miles.
Externally the Rosso Corsa paintwork retains excellent depth and gloss consistent with what is believed to be original paint throughout. Accordingly the car shows a light, honest patina of stone chips that tells an authentic story, consistent with its mileage. At present they have been left untouched so its story is visible to any inspection. All of its alloy wheels have recently been refurbished and are in excellent condition, notably being finished in the rare and desirable diamond cut style.
Inside, the buttery-soft Crema leather is in excellent condition throughout, with only a small amount of wear visible on the driver’s seat bolster. The car features extended leather to the transmission tunnel and headliner - both very rare options. The interior is further enhanced by a full complement of interior carbon fibre, including the highly desirable driving zone, centre bridge, dashboard trims and F1 shift paddles.
Other highlights include the JBL Professional sound system and Scuderia side shields on the front wings. The sports exhaust tailpipe tips were specified in black and brake calipers in Giallo Modena. A yellow tachometer dial neatly ties the exterior and interior together and Bordeaux carpeting harmonises well with the colour scheme. Contrast stitching in Rosso Corsa (including the Cavallino emblem on the headrests) completes this extremely well-considered configuration.
Seating options available in a 458 were numerous and whilst many consider carbon racing seats to be the most desirable, they are not heated and often prove less well suited to touring than others that were available in the Spider chassis. This car has the “full-electric” option that offers great support, a wide range of adjustability and includes a heating function, essential for comfortable year-round open-top motoring. Additionally Chassis 197453 features the very rare and highly desirable Daytona elements that were tastefully ordered in matching Crema Alcantara and give this car an additional level of detail that has real visual impact, especially with the roof down.
Service History:
The car benefits from a full Ferrari Service History, split across only three well-known Ferrari franchises; HR Owen, Colchester Ferrari and Maranello Sales. It was in regular use with its first three owners from 2013-2018, before being acquired by its current owner at 18,960 miles. The current owner enjoyed several driving tours in the car, including the North Coast 500 and a trip back to the Ferrari factory in Maranello.
Following this the car was put into long-term storage in March 2021, where it remained until July 2025. Upon exit from storage 197453 received a full recommissioning service, additionally including spark plug cleaning and a new battery. The rear brake discs and pads were also replaced due to the handbrake unfortunately seizing on in storage.
Since its last service, the car received a brake fluid change in April 2026 and has only covered a handful of miles. The current owner has elected to sell as he wishes to downsize his collection.

Market Outlook:
Widely cherished by collectors, the 458 was the last naturally aspirated model in Ferrari’s mid engined V8 lineage, succeeded by the turbocharged 488 in 2015. As a result, the significance of the 458 has become increasingly recognised with values firming in recent years. According to howmanyleft, there are just over 600 458 Spiders in the UK and it is widely agreed these cars will continue to have a positive trajectory as buyers favour purer and more analogue sensations to more modern alternatives.
Summary:
Chassis 197453 is an opportunity to buy into a hot market, but more than simply economics, the model is quickly becoming widely appreciated as a high point in Luca di Montezemolo’s reign at Ferrari.
Bringing together the most timeless Ferrari configuration with a fabulous history and only having a small number of former keepers, this is one of the finest examples currently available.
