The car has 3.0 Litre quad-cam V6 engine comes with triple, dual throat downdraft Weber carburettors which produces 220 BHP.

This is reported to be one of a handful of cars that were delivered new to the US prior to the release of the SS model at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1975, as evidenced by the accompanying Maserati Certificate of Origin and factory-certified true copy of the original delivery note. As such, it reportedly features the SS engine and some other SS features including the louvred bonnet.

Equipment includes air conditioning, power brakes, Jaeger instrument gauges and auxiliary dials, push-button radio, electric windows, passenger footwell-mounted fire extinguisher, and signature analogue clock.

• The Merak is accompanied by an original owner’s handbook, two sets of keys including the original set, Maserati S.p.A Certificate of Origin, Specification Document and factory-certified true copy of the original delivery note, the history of ownership and mileage from new, and toolkit.

• The other work included a carburettor strip down and rebuild, all fuel pipes replaced to safely take ethanol-based fuels, new oil pipes, engine couplings, all auxiliary belts, battery, air filters, plugs, leads, and distributor fitted, hydraulics overhauled by specialist Pleiades, radiator re-cored, air conditioning system checked and re-gassed, coolant replaced with waterless coolant and correct AGIP oil used for engine.

• Furthermore, all electrical components were checked, cleaned, and replaced if necessary, brakes stripped and cleaned, suspension bushes checked (new bushes supplied with the car but not fitted as original items functioning correctly albeit slightly perished), various gaskets replaced, and fully operational Italian air horns reconnected.

• In the past two years we have serviced and recommissioned the car at a cost of £10k with invoices to show works carried out.
