Description
Here is my AC Cobra continuation Dax IRS.
I built her and she passed IVA in May 2024. I'm a retired engineer and have built or restored cars and bikes since I was a kid.
She is built to a high specification - My mantra being that if you asked "Has a Cobra got....."? Mine has!
The Body
She is finished in high metal flake, Aston Martin Scintilla Silver with red Italian leather upholstery and a Mohair Tonneau cover.
Halibrand style 16" Cobra wheels with BF Goodrich Tyres.
TRS 4 Point harnesses.
The Noisy bits
Fitted with 1977 Rebuilt V8 Small Block Chevy, swept volume 6.3l. She has :-
Edelbrock Street Performer heads.
Edelbrock Street performer flowed inlet manifold.
Edelbrock stage II cams.
Comp cam roller rockers and lifters.
Holly 600cfm 4 barrel carb.
All mated to a Getrag 5 speed dogleg gearbox.
Running Gear
Jag XJS fully independent suspension all round with Twin Spax coilovers at each rear corner and single Spax coilovers at the front. Also front and rear anti roll bars.
Inboard rear XJS ventilated brakes and a Powerlok LSD.
I have the headrests in matching red leather, but as I think she looks better without, some of the photos show them removed.
She took 4 years to build and now...I'm bored! 290 miles in 2 years shows how little I drive it. I need to move on to my next project and so we're parting company as I need the garage space.
Just so you know, it is a 6.3Litre V8 with open exhausts - don't expect it to be quiet!
I'm pricing it sensibly as it is a home build.
Sensible offers will be considered!
