1998 TVR CHIMAERA

I have taken the difficult decision to sell my1998 Chimaera 500.

Finished in Formula Red with grey interior it is in excellent condition, having covered 61000 miles.

I purchased the car in 2021 from Hexham Horseless Carriages, who were also the original supplying dealer when new, and they also completed the Tuscan headlight conversion for the original owner.

The car has an excellent service history, most of which was with HHC and latterly with RB Sportscars (Richard at RB Sportscars actually signed off the original PDI for this car back in 1998!)

MOT until 18/10/2026 with no advisories.

Starts first time every time and is running excellent, with that fantastic V8 soundtrack. There is a Sony head unit with hands free/Bluetooth, but this has been rarely used as you never tire of the engine soundtrack.

The engine pulls fantastically, as you would expect from a 5 litre engine in a lightweight car, with loads of low down torque. The clutch and gearbox are also in good working order.

Paintwork is generally in excellent condition for the cars age with some chips on the front, which most cars suffer from these days thanks to the condition of our roads.

The interior, which is fitted with alloy accessories, is in excellent condition, with no cracks on the dash, and the roof/hood and rear window are also excellent.

Everything works as it should and the heaters are nice and hot, keeping you nice and warm on a cold day with the roof off.

Fitted with Team Dynamics wheels, 17inch rears and 16inch fronts, with excellent Toyo Proxes tyres, that were renewed at the time of purchase.

The car was fitted with new brake discs and pads, and also new fuel lines, prior to sale at HHC.

A new battery and swirl pot were fitted last year.

This car is a real head turner, getting lots of interest and comments wherever you go!

I have priced the Chimaera sensibly at £15500 making it an excellent value TVR Chimaera 500.

The car is currently on a private plate which well be removed and it will revert to its original plate.
