Overview
As far as powerful, refined and comfortable grand tourers go, few do it better than the Bentley Continental GT. Sleek and elegant but with enough performance to kick start a dying star, the Continental GT is a car that not only saved Bentley's bacon but continues to enthral and excite today, a whole 23 years after it first hit the streets.
The current model may have evolved into a hybrid, such is the way of the modern motorcar, but if you're after a more old school, visceral experience then you surely have to turn to the earlier, 100% internal combustion engined variants, whether that be the V8 or W12. Throw in a convertible roof and you've got a stunning and supremely capable drop top GT with more than enough grunt under the bonnet to satisfy all but the most vehement of horsepower junkies.
This particular second generation 2013 Bentley Continental GTC is the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 version and it’s a compelling alternative to the W12. It's almost as fast (who ever said 500bhp wasn't enough?) but is way more efficient thanks in part to its ability to shut down half the cylinders when not going full send. Still able to devour trans-continental miles in absolute comfort, it's a bona fide luxury convertible four-seater supercar that took everything great about the original GT and sharpened it to a finer point.
Coming to market in wonderful original condition overall and having covered just 51K miles from new, this Mulliner spec convertible Continental looks stunning in its Hallmark Metallic exterior over quilted cream leather interior. Reportedly running exactly as it should and complete with an impressive service history as well as recent specialist invoices, the car has clearly been well-maintained, a claim that is further evinced by a long, advisory-free MOT.

Summary
Bentley has been making iconic open top tourers for decades and the second-gen Continental GTC is perhaps one of the best. Dynamic, well crafted and reliable – in addition to being incredibly fast and drop dead gorgeous – the GTC could very well be the ultimate second hand convertible and it’s place in the modern classic realm is almost certainly assured. This wonderful example has clearly been well maintained and regularly serviced and evidently wants for nothing. The perfect way to travel? Quite possibly.
