Description
After nearly 13 years and 3 Westfields it is time to move on as my circumstances are going to change in the near future. So for sale is my 2002 Westfield SEiGHT with a 3.9L Rover V8, 5-speed LT-77 gearbox and Ford Sierra LSD.
I've owned this car since November 2000 and am the 3rd owner. The chap who build it was the owner of a garage and build it as part of his retirement activities. He owned it for 18 years and about 8,500 miles and when he was unable to enjoy it further due to old age, he sold it to a trader. The trader used it for a bit whilst it was for sale and this is when I spotted the advert on Ebay. However, I had another Westfield that I needed to sell first, and by the time I had done so, the advert was gone. On the off chance I contacted the trader and it turned out the car was still available... I picked it up the same week!
I've just serviced the car (oil, filter, coolant, brake and clutch fluid) so all you need is pray for nice weather. The current mileage is 16,500, but may go up if the weather is good. It's not due an MOT until July, but I will put it through earlier if it sells before then. With the Q plate, the emissions check is visual only, so there's no issues there.
It comes with full doors, wind deflectors and loads of other bits and bobs. Whatever I can find in my garage that is kit-car related will be sold with it.
The GRP body is in good condition, but 24 years old, so set your expectations accordingly. In my ownership I've replaced the 'cosmetic' roll-bar with a proper roll-bar, fabricated a rear diffuser, fabricated a removable boot box with lid, installed removable side panels and made the nose-cone removable without tools. Also installed a new interior, GRP shell seats, 4 point harness, C-Tek charging point, a cruise control gizmo and a phone charger/mount (iphone 14).
The wheels are John Brown Wheels 13" Smoothies (7" rear, 5.5" front) with Toyo R888s. The rear arches are covered in plasti-dip, and I'd always planned to wrap the fake carbon arch protectors (supplied) and fit those instead. Same goes for replacing the current vinyl dash with a fake carbon dash blank (also supplied).
Now for the bad news. The engine consumes oil and has low compression on some cylinders. It still runs absolutely fine, doesn't smoke, and holds good oil pressure. But you will need to budget for an engine rebuild/replacement (pick your preferred option). This is reflected in the asking price. In the mean time you can drive it and just keep an eye out on the oil level (you should do this anyway).
I've uploaded a video to Youtube which shows a cold start and a short drive through some pot-hole ridden Northamptonshire roads, but I'm unable to put the link in the advert, so just contact me for the link.
Viewings are available in Northampton. You can contact me by email, phone, whatsapp or text.
I'm not interested in P/X offers. I'm also not going to perform your HPI checks using your dodgy websites. If you are genuinely interested you can perform your own checks...
