2003 RENAULT CLIO

This Renaultsport Clio 172 Cup is a low-mileage example of the marque’s entertaining and acclaimed hot hatch hero.

It is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre inline-four, delivering 170bhp (172PS) to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.

Note that the car was kept in long-term dry storage between 2008 and 2022, and that it has barely been driven since its last service in November 2025.

The odometer shows just 44,275 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

Based on the standard Clio 172, the ‘Cup’ model features lowered and stiffened suspension, unique alloy wheels, a revised front splitter, rear spoiler, thinner window glass, reduced soundproofing and a one-piece rear bench seat.

This example is finished in Mondial Blue over a grey cloth-trimmed cabin, punctuated by body-coloured trim inserts.

It rides on a set of 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, shod with Davanti tyres.

Equipment includes electrically operated windows and mirrors, basic heating and ventilation controls, and a CD player with steering column ‘fingertip’ controls.

Accompanying the sale is the owner’s book pack, various maintenance invoices, toolkit, spare wheel, and new door pillar stickers.

The car was last serviced in November 2025 at 44,129 miles. It was also serviced in October 2024 at 42,366 miles and December 2022 at 38,938 miles when it received a new fuel pump, crank sensor, timing belt, auxiliary belt, water pump and dephaser pulley.

Prior to this, the car was evidently in long-term storage, so the two previous documented services were carried out in August 2007 at 38,559 miles by Evans Halshaw Burnley and October 2006 at 34,604 miles by D. Kitchen Ltd.
