Description
Hello up for sale is my stunning 1971 Ford Mustang Convertible.
Rare factory colour “Pastel Blue”, possibly the only one in the U.K. in this colour.
It's one of the nicest driving old American cars i've driven, drives like I imagine it would have driven when brand new.
Imported to the U.K. in 2013 from Boston, Massachusetts.
The engine is a 302 V8, excellent strong running engine with no issues and is a lot of fun to drive with plenty of power, starts great hot or cold without any issues, not checked the numbers on the block but seeing how original the car is I would imagine it is the original engine, nicely detailed engine bay too.
I drive my cars most weekends when the weather is nice so it’s not a car that just sits around.
Recent new parts and work include…
New Battery
New Ignition coil
New Fuel pump
Rebuilt Carburettor
Original Radiator has been re-cored, uprated from two to three cores.
Thermostat and hoses replaced
The front spring top bushes have been replaced.
Inner wing reinforcement panels around the springs as well
New discs and wheel bearings.
Overhauled calipers with new seals and flexible brake lines all round.
New Power steering pump hoses.
Top end de-coke and valve grind.
Exhaust has a nice rumble, sounds like a V8 should, definitely can hear it coming but not overly loud.
Suspension all nice and smooth and disc brakes all operate well.
C4 Automatic 3 speed transmission, shifts perfect with no issues, kicks down all hooked up and works as it should.
Power steering.
Power brakes, discs front, drums rear
American Racing AR23 wheels.
Cooper Cobra raised white letter tyres all have excellent tread.
Factory blue Ruffini/Corinthian bucket seats, interior is in excellent condition, interior looks all factory original and not been messed with, drivers seat has a couple of small splits where the stitching has come loose but not too noticeable.
Power white convertible top in nice condition with no rips or leaks, couple of light stains but again not really noticeable.
Blue Tonneau cover included.
Glass all good.
Chrome all good
The bodywork is in very good condition with no rot I can see anywhere, same goes for the underneath, all very solid, obviously welcome to check for yourself if you were to come to view.
Factory Pastel Blue paint is in very nice condition, up close there are some imperfections but it looks really nice.
MOT exempt due to being a historic vehicle.
Road Tax exempt.
London ULEZ exempt.
HPI clear.
V5 present and in my name.
Vin number all correct on dash and original buck tag in place still in the engine bay matching all paperwork.
So to conclude it’s a 55 year old car so it’s not concourse perfect but it is a lovely car and nice condition and ready for the summer shows.
Also is a good investment too as these cars are only going up in value.
Viewings welcome near Twickenham, Middlesex, please only come to view if you’re serious about actually buying so we don’t waste each other’s time, many thanks.
Open to a near offer, although any half decent 71-73 Mustang nowadays under £25k is good value in my opinion, especially one in this rare colour.
Doubt you would find a cheaper one than mine in the U.K. in similar condition really.
Not looking for swaps or px’s as there’s something else I want to buy although I am on the lookout for a new daily driver so may be open to something around or under £4k but must be Ulez compliant and petrol.
If interested please call or message for a video of the car or more pictures.
Thanks for looking.
