Description
2007 BMW 335d (E91)
2 Owners, 168,000 miles, Full service History, MOT until Jan 2027.
Good condition for the year, some wear and tear commensurate with 19 year old car.
Hi, Thanks for Looking at My 2007 BMW 335d.
I have owned this Car since August 2019, having bought it on 104k miles.
It has been absolutely fantastic and reliable, the only reason I am selling it now is because it is not ULEZ compliant and I have a requirement for something that is.
Being only the second owner I am lucky to have all of the original sales paperwork which shows all of the factory options and the costs.
These Are:
Sparkling Graphite Paintwork (£0.00), Beige Dakota Leather (£1,220), Electric Folding Mirrors (£165), No Model Inscription (£0.00), Floor Mats (2 sets Rubber and Carpet) (£75), Electric Front Seats and Driver Memory (£890), Sports Seats (£430), Lumbar Support Front Seats (£205), Front Seat Heating (£260), Poplar Wood Trim (£300), Navigation System Professional (£1,970), Bluetooth Phone Prep and Telematics (£535).
So approximately £4,830 worth of options in 2007…
About 3-4 years ago I have updated the i-drive with a new screen which allow for Android Auto and Car Play, whilst still allowing for the original I drive functions to be seen / used. This has vastly improved the day to day driving as there is no need for a phone on your dash etc… This upgrade cost around £700 at the time including fitting.
It is a bit of an unusual spec being an SE so understated and subtle, with clear glass, but having the upgraded (and far more comfortable) sports seats in beige and the wood trim (which looking at the options list was more expensive than the seat heating which I would argue is essential on any car..) . Then fitted with the largest and most powerful diesel engine available for this model. In 2021 I had a simple remap undertaken by Simon at Emaps. Which takes the car from around 280bhp to more like 320bhp but with a load of torque which is really noticeable, in gear it certainly does not hang around.
Below is a list of the maintenance and other work I have undertaken on the car in my ownership.
09/09/19 – New Air Conditioning Condenser and Regas to fix nonworking Airconditioning.
08/10/2019 – New Gas Struts for tailgate.
27/11/2019 – Replacement of Boost Sensor and Swirl Flap removal – Swirl flap removal recommended by mechanic as engine was apart to the point where it could be easily done and is a common point of failure.
20/01/2020 – Full Service, Oil and Filter, Brake Fluid, Air Filter, Cabin Filter,
Also Front Brakes (Pads and Discs),
28/01/2020 – 6 New Glow Plugs fitted.
30/06/2020 – 4 New Tyres – Michelin PS4.
03/09/2021-13/09/2021 – Gearbox Oil and Filter change (using genuine ZF parts and fluid), Oil Change, Oil Filter, 5 Glow Plugs and Glow Plug Controller, Front Discs Replaced to cure brake judder (successful)

10/02/26 – Oil Service and MOT , Oil and Filter, Engine Flush,

MOT until 9th February 2027 – Last MOT (and Previous 2) had no advisories.
There are some items which it is probably worth mentioning here:
1) In the cold there are occasions when it takes a few cranks to start, and then you get a start but with a puff of smoke (very dieselly smoke), I replaced the battery in December last year to try and cure this, it is better, but not completely gone away, I suspect new glow plugs / controllers would improve it a bit, but it is after all an older diesel with some miles. Once running it’s absolutely fine drives fine, sounds good etc. it’s just the start can be a bit slow in the cold.
2) On the theme of smoke, if wanting to “make progress” the first time one goes wide open throttle on an acceleration, you will get a bit of smoke from the exhaust, usually only on the first go, it seems to be fine after that, kind of like it’s clearing it’s throat… again, older diesel with a slight map… drives fine, just may surprise whomever is behind you.
3) Brake Judder – There is a vibration through the brakes mostly from motorway speeds down, The most recent MOT did not show nay issue with the brakes. I am told that this could be solved by new discs but does not impact the safety of the car.
Additionally I have a set of winter wheels and tyres (same style with Michelin Cross Climate 2 ) if you are interested.
