EXTERIOR

Arguably the ultimate evolution of the mid engine Ferrari the F355 is still a striking piece of design 25 years after its launch. With its steeply raked nose, deep side intakes and iconic pop up headlights the wedge shaped shaped silhouette was an instant classic that epitomised an era of flair and innovation at Maranello. In a rare and attractive shade of Argento Nurburgring this cherished example presents in fantastic order with the metallic paintwork incredibly consistent throughout.

The renowned Challenge grille at the rear punctuates the motorsport pedigree of this rare and attractive Berlinetta.

INTERIOR

Complimentary of the bright bodywork, a black and blu scuro cabin combination works well with the Nero sports seats offering a low slung driving position that provide fantastic support for both driver and passenger.

Interior switchgear and plastics have been refurbished and now compliment the fantastic condition of this carefully maintained cabin space.

Helping to keep the weight of the Berlinetta to a minimum the equipment list is basic but effective; electric windows, heated mirrors and the original radio unit provide the essentials for a long distance road trip or short weekend blast. Being mid-engine the storage space is at the front and provides adequate space for a couple of weekend bags, as well as housing the original leather tool kits that are still present with the car.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The major difference between the V8 engine in the 348 and 355 was the introduction of a 5-valve cylinder head; allowing better intake permeability and a considerably more powerful engine. A hoarse bark greets the starter before the engine settles to a deep, resonant idle and, when warmed up, the shrill noise of this Italian V8 is pure theatre and frankly an acoustic masterpiece.

Having covered minimal mileage since inspection, with a major service inclusive of clutch, F1 actuator and cambelt, the car sits in excellent mechanical health.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The classic 5 spoke Speedline wheels are in unmarked condition wrapped in a set of Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico tyres – all of which show plenty of tread.

The brakes perform as they should, with no adverse pitch, pull or drone. The Nero calipers are free from chips or corrosion and further illustrate the careful road use of this wonderful example.

HISTORY FILE

As illustrated by the original Tessera di Garanzia, this 355 was imported by Maranello Concessionaires and first registered by Stratstone Wilmslow on 1st April 1998.

With 14 stamps recorded in the service book, it is clear this example has benefitted from meticulous maintenance throughout its life, with the most recent significant expenditure covering engine and drivetrain works completed only a few hundred miles ago.

The accompanying history file includes the original Schedoni document wallet, service book, handbooks and manuals, alongside a substantial collection of invoices documenting work carried out over the years.
